More enjoyment of your ship, more comfort and safer sailing.

Mast winter ready
Of course, you can do it all yourself. That's perfectly fine, because it will make your boat and crew happy for an entire sailing season.
[+R]M PlusResult-MARITIEM is happy to help. Doing it together is often just a little more convenient, and it's always faster. If you don't have time, we'll take care of everything for you.
We're happy to take care of all the work for you at the beginning and end of the sailing season.
Ship on shore: Halyards from mast
Is your vessel, with or without a mast, ashore for an extended period? Then replace the halyards with labeled thin pilot lines. Wash the halyards and let them dry.
Check the halyards for damage, including rigging, splices, and shackles. Replace them if necessary and immediately optimize the diameter, length, color, etc. Store the halyards in a dry, dark place. This extends their lifespan and increases safety.

Mast off: tape threaded ends turnbuckles
When removing the mast, the stays must be released. When the mast is raised, the stays must be retightened.
-
If the mast was positioned correctly during the previous sailing season, and you want to maintain this position in the coming season, then, while the mast is still up, mark the threaded ends of the terminals where they enter the turnbuckle. Mark the threaded ends above and below each turnbuckle with a piece of tape. See image.

-
When the mast is raised, tighten the stays to the tape to establish a base tension. Do some trimming after the first sailing session.

Mast in storage
Disassemble as many parts as possible. Also remove the spreaders. Gather loose parts, including all pins, bolts, nuts, washers, screws, etc., in a single box.
Making the mast ready to sail
Damage repair work usually takes longer than planned. Begin this work in a timely manner.
Well before setting up the mast:
-
Check all lighting in the mast with a separate battery. Replace the bulb or wiring if necessary. LED lighting lasts 15 to 25 times longer and is 40 to 90% more energy efficient.
-
Check all instruments. Repair or replace if necessary.
The day before setting up the mast:
-
Clean the mast and rigging again if necessary (dust, bird droppings, spider droppings, cobwebs, etc.).
-
Reassemble disassembled components, including spreaders.
-
Reel in halyards, flag lines, and lazy jacks.
