Purchase and Pre purchase

Buying a vessel, whether new or pre-owned, is a distinctive process.

[+R]M PlusResult-MARITIEM is ready to provide you with expert advice and practical guidance on the sailing and technical aspects, enabling you to make well-informed decisions before, during and after the purchase. Whether you are an experienced sailor or buying your first vessel, we support you in selecting the yacht that best suits you and all the adventures you envisage on the water.

Buying a vessel can also be an emotional process, where you “fall in love” and view everything through rose-tinted glasses. In addition to the degree of match, the actual condition of your prospective vessel is equally important. What level of investment should you anticipate before the yacht fully meets your requirements? In practice, a lower purchase price is often accompanied by a higher investment in modifications and upgrades.

[+R]M PlusResult-MARITIEM works in a rational and methodical manner.

  • [+R]M PlusResult-MARITIEM takes your existing experience and future ambitions as a starting point, along with crew composition, desired handling characteristics, and intended cruising area.

  • We translate these into concrete, measurable criteria and match them against the prospective vessel.

  • We assess which equipment is fitted but not relevant to you, and which equipment is missing that is relevant to you.

  • This results in your prospective vessel receiving a clear rating that reflects how well it matches your requirements, including transparent insight into where it scores highly and where it falls short.

[+R]M PlusResult-MARITIEM works in a practical and thorough manner.

  • [+R]M PlusResult-MARITIEM always goes aloft and inspects, at close range, the entire furling extrusion or Tuff Luff foil. The masthead and all equipment located at the top of the mast are also examined by visual inspection, by hand and by measurement. Why go aloft? Because inspecting from deck level with binoculars or a telephoto camera inevitably results in incomplete information and assumptions. That is not acceptable.

  • Particular attention is always paid to the degree of galvanic corrosion, as it is a strong indicator of how much care and attention the owner has given to the vessel.

  • We also accompany the sea trial, preferably offshore, where sails are changed and reefed. Only when sailing can the true condition and performance of the equipment be properly assessed.

That matters!

You, sitting comfortably in the cockpit under the sprayhood, reefing the mainsail with a cup of coffee beside you — how good is that?

Where you used to have more than enough people on board during sailing trips, lately there have been fewer or you sometimes sail solo. However, all actions must be performed on board. Even if your own motor skills are declining, setting up your ship for Short Handed Sailing is the solution. This may involve permanent adjustments or temporary adjustments that you make when necessary.
